Carmella Rose.
She found a heart wrapped in paper
while it fluttered as fish out of water
the evening amiss of its daughters
wore the grown soda of the atlas
and all of his world in her hand
she was that hatchet woman
cooper mending his bother
the byline read his initials
so she knew of his land
where grass greener
is much Coca-Cola
tracings happier
on a date chat
to her laughs
She fetched the moon
as it crawled along roofs
so it blinded her eyes soon
to becoming my dark smooth
she's a blind pig who stays true
Training in her range
of an emotional climate
perfected by her signage
that read her heartbeat rate
a face she met no telling day
held his lust in earmuffs afraid
for a klatsch not nulling her pain
would deafen allaying the strange
he outliving the backdrop; his fame
only colours she painted him in sane
so she's his life to buy, misses bargain
A big thank you to the team behind my success, the men and women who cheer me on, remind me of deadlines, and the beautiful muses who help my pen catch its breath from finally being able to speak. Thank you, Carmella Rose; I fell in love with your family from the very first day—your American spirit of freedom, adventure, and a dash of competitiveness!
I love you so much, and I hope to dedicate more poetry to you in the future.
